Constipation Problem : Causes and Prevention
Constipation is a common problem in which bowel movement occurs less than 3 times a week, depends on the person.The stool are small in size,hard and difficult to pass due to constipation.
Constipation is considered as a symptom and not a s a disease.But,it need to be taken seriously and treated soon.people above the age of 65 years and women comp-lain more about the problem of constipation.A pregnant women can also have constipation either after child birth or C-section.
Common causes of constipation:
- Lack of physical activity.
- Intake of medicines for blood pressure, anti-Parkinson drugs,or iron supplements.
- Milk.
- Less fiber in food.
- Problem of rectum
- Dehydration
- Problem with intestinal functions.
- Diseases such as spinal cord injuries, diabetes,stroke,Parkinson’s disease.
Tips that helps in relieving constipation:
–Drink Plenty of water: Try drinking water everyday,the person suffering from constipation should drink water early in the morning with empty stomach. A normal person should drink at least 10 glasses of warm water that helps in washing all the toxins away from the body.Drinks that contains carbon should be strictly avoided for the people suffering from constipation.
–Eat foods enrich in fiber: People who suffers from constipation should eat lots of grains, fruits and vegetables rich in fiber.The fiber helps in softening the stool.
-Drink Prune juice or Eat prunes: Prunes consists of stool loosening component called Sorbitol.It helps in relieving constipation.
–Always keep your body moving,do not sit at one place for longer: Try your body to keep moving all the time,Exercise daily or walk daily for at least 30 minutes. As,sometimes severe constipation can lead to Piles
