Sunburn prevention: Home remedies to prevent sunburn
Sunburn occurs when the body is exposed to harmful UV rays of the sun for long period of time.There is generally two types of UV rays UV-a(ultra-violet A) and UV-B(ultra-violet B).UV-B rays effect the outer layer of the skin and UV-A rays effect the underlying layers of the skin, in short both are meant to be very harmful.
There are some Do’s and Dont’s that you should follow in case of sunburn:
-Avoid excess exposure to sun such as long time swimming or outing.
-Do not scrub your face and use natural lotion and soaps.
-Drink lots of water everyday so as to keep skin effected by sunburn to be moisturized.
-Always wear sunglasses when going out in the sun.
-Eat fruits containing high water content such as oranges, watermelons,,sweet limes etc.
Some Home remedies for sunburn:
-Take a mixture of tomato juice and buttermilk in 1:6 ratio.Apply it on the parts where sunburn has occurred.It will help to heal the burned area quickly.
-Have a refreshing bath of few drops of rose water in a cold water.It provides good relief from sunburn.
-Add some drops of vinegar in a bucket of water and soak a cotton cloth in it, then put it on your face except the eye portion, it also acts a good sunburn reliever.
-Make a milk and water solution in the ratio 1:1 and soak a cloth in it.Put the cloth on the face and sunburn affected areas.
-You can also use cucumber juice which helps in reducing the redness and softens the skin. It also heals the inflammation caused due to sunburn.Prepare a mixture of cucumber juice and one tablespoon milk and apply it on your face.
-Mix some peppermint oil in the bathtub,it will help in reducing the discomfort caused due to sunburn.
Herbal remedies are also very helpful in relieving the discomfort caused due to sun burn.
Aloevera is the best ever used natural sunscreen.Apply aloe vera before going out in the sun to prevent from the harmful rays of the sun.
Sandalwood is also recommended remedy for sunburn.You can apply sandalwood paste on the skin before going out in the sun.
