Unprotected oral sex can cause cancer

A recent study has revealed that an unprotected oral sex with many partner increases the risk of cancer of Oro Pharyngeal and tonsillitis.Oral sex without any protective measure increases the threat of cancer of airway pipe or tosiler cancer.

Oro Pharyngeal cancer is the kind of disorder in which the cancer cells are developed within the anatomical borders of oropharynx.Generally this cancer develops in people who smoke and drink alcohol in excess.Experts have found that some cancers of the oropharynx and tonsils are mostly caused by virus called Human Papilloma Virus(HPV). HPV causes genital warts and is linked to the cervical cancer in women.Hence, the same virus causes oral cancer in both women and men who are indulged in oral sex.

The infections such as herpes,chlamydia,goorrhea and many other buccal cavity irritations which are sexually transmitted and repeated infection caused due to oral sex develops cancers of mouth.It is estimated that a person who have more than 5 oral sex partners have 9 times chances of developing cancer of tongue, throat and tonsils.

The HPV infection is very common and the symptoms are rarely seen in this type of infection.Cancer is the third leading cause of death among people at the present time.Cancer can be prevented,if detected at early stage.Any type of lesion in the mouth should be taken seriously, not all develops to cancer but the prevention is always better than cure.The earlier the ailment is detected the higher is the possibility of the survival of the person.
