Cutting down on carbohydrates leads to loosening deep fat belly
A recent study has examined that a frequent cut on carbohydrates helps in reducing deep belly fat with no change in weight.
Professor and lead author Barbara Gower at the University of Alabama at Birmingham found that along with weight loss a reduction in carbohydrate achieves to total reduction in body fat.
She says” These changes could help reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, stroke and coronary artery disease.”
The study was done on 69 overweight but healthy men and women by a team led by Gower and finally found that at the beginning and end of each diet control phase people who consumed the moderately carb-restricted diet had 11% deep abdominal fat as compared to those who ate the standard diets.
The results were presented at the Endocrine Society’s 93rd annual meeting in Boston.
