Bad Breath in Children: Causes and Remedies
Bad breath or Halitosis is a common mouth problem particularly in children, as they are very less concerned about there hygiene. Children mainly tend to breathe through their mouth that causes dryness, which consequently increases the bacteria known as oral anaerobic bacteria.

Proper hygiene
Hygiene is the most important necessity to reduce bad breath in children. They should be encouraged to brush their teeth properly and regularly. Toothbrush must be soft enough to ensure their gums security as harsh brushes tends to harm their teeth as well as gums. Brushing should be done on every side so that the toothpaste penetrates into the roots. There are many ways to attract children like providing those colorful brushes or sweet flavored toothpaste, which will pull their interest towards daily brushing.
Tongue cleanliness
One of the major cause of bad breathe is unclean tongue, advice your child to clean their tongue daily. A soft brush can be used for this purpose or various tongue cleaners are also available in the market. Regular tongue cleaning enables the growth of mouth bacteria and reduces bad breathe.

Consuming water
Children should be habitual of drinking plenty of water daily to deal with their dental problems. It reduces mouth dryness and keeps them hydrated through out the day, which eliminates bad, breathe and provides a fresh breathe.

Bad breath problem also relates with food habits, children who mostly consume fast food mostly complaints about having bad breath. Junk food not only creates bad breath but it is also the major cause of other mouth or dental diseases.

Take some clean leaves of rosemary and wash them carefully. Now, ask your children to chew them for few minutes and throw away at the end. It helps in getting immediate relief from bad breath.
Chew coriander leaves
Your children can chew fresh and clean leaves of coriander to reduce bad breath problem as it provides order relief and and contains various breath freshening benefits.
Chew variety of herbs
Dry herbs like cinnamon, cardamom and cloves have a good essence and kills the bacteria responsible for bad breath. These herbs can be consumed at any time whenever your child is getting irritated with bad breath or bad mouth flavor.
Consume fruits rich in vitamin C & fiber
Fruits like lemon, orange or carrot are rich sources of vitamin C and help in treating the bad breath issue in children. Similarly, fiber rich food also helps in reducing bad breath problem. Corn, white beans, black beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, whole-wheat pasta, brown rice, whole wheat bread, lentils, oatmeal, and almonds must be provided to children in a good quantity to get rid of bad breath.
