Hair damage ; causes, symptoms & remedies

Times are gone when baldness or hair loss occurs only to adults now a days it is a common problem even in teenagers. Hair becomes dull and dry because of many reasons, so it is important to take care of them.Check out some causes of hair damage and their remedies.

Hair is made up of a protein known as Keratin and a layer of cuticles is situated above them. Cuticles protect the hairs and makes them soft, shiny and strong. Intense use of chemical products, heating elements and coloring damage the layer of cuticles which negatively effects the hairs by damaging their color and health. Not only this, using blow dryers, coloring or straightening rods burn the cuticles which is one of the leading cause of hair damage. Bleaching or hair extension also effects the health of hairs and make them dry and dull.

Always choose best shampoo for your hair. Your choice should make your hairs smooth and strong. Nowadays various shampoos like color lock, hair fall control, dandruff control are available in the market.

  • Herbal shampoo

Use those  herbal shampoos which softly remove the dust from the hairs and keep them moisturized.

  • Hair conditioning

Condition your hairs in a regular interval of time. Conditioning makes the cuticles soft and enable them to maintain any hair style for a longer time.

  • Trimming

Regular trimming is very important for getting rid of split-ends. You can also use hair mask or serum after that. Hair mask provides enough protein to the hairs and makes them long and strong. Use them once in a week.

  • Special home packs

Take henna, dry orange peals powder, tea leaves water and little amount of gooseberry (amla) powder, keep the mixture in water overnight. Apply on hairs for 1 hour and wash with cold water. You can also use coffee powder instead of gooseberry for hair coloring for 3 hours.

  • Oiling and massage

Almond oil, coconut oil, henna, hibiscus, gooseberry can be mixed together for making a hair massage pack. You can also do a hot oil therapy after massaging these oil in scalp. This locks the moisture and makes hair strong.
