Blockage in sperm pathway-

The tubes which leads to the origin of the sperm may be blocked due to male infertility arises. The tube which carries the sperm from the testes to penis may be not functioning properly.

Treatment of male infertility:

The treatment totally depends upon the cause of male infertility.Variety of treatments is available such as:

Blockage in the sperm’s pathway-

Men who have blockage in the pathway that leads from testes to penis may undergo surgery to open up that blockage.Another way to treat it is to retrieve the sperms directly from the testes through various reproductive technologies.

Treatment of pituitary gland or hypothalamus-

Treatment is given to let pituitary gland and hypothalamus function normally. In this Gonadotropin treatment is suggested  to normalize the sperms count.

  •                    Gonadotropin treatment-

It is the treatment in which a certain amount of hCG is injected in to the patient’s body 3 times a week for a time period of six months. It is done to increase the sperm count so that a sufficient amount of sperms can be ejaculated. If the sperms count dose not improve in 6 months then recombinant human follicle stimulating hormone(rhFSH) is added to it.

This treatment normally takes 1-2 years to get back to normal fertility.

Varicocele-

Men suffering from varicocele have low sperm count or abnormal shapes of the sperm which causes infertility problem. It can be treated through surgical techniques.Although the surgery thing dose not necessarily always works for some men and it is only recommended to men who have large varicocele.

There are cases of male infertility where no treatment exists. This happens when the sperm producing tetes are badly damaged or functions abnormally. This is due to abnormalities like Klinefelter syndrome or absence of Y chromosomes.
