People suffering from diabetes or any kind of heart disease should follow a balanced healthy diet which is very important for their treatment.Dietary advice for heart disease and diabetes consist of a well maintained balanced diet with less saturated fat and more fresh fruits and vegetables.
A cooking session called “Healthy Food for Healthy heart” was organized by the nutritionist Ishi Khosla in New Delhi, to prevent and reduce the increasing number of diabetes and heart diseases in India.
Khosla said that eating is necessity for living but to eat intelligently is an art of healthy survival.People must change their eating habits by choosing the appropriate foods for their body.
Patients suffering from diabetes and heart ailments should eat lot of beans, tofu, lentils, and soybean.Green tea and whole grains like barley and brown rice are also good for health.
The cooking session conducted includes quick and simple, easy to make recipes for the people suffering from heart disease and diabetes.
She further says that people should be vigilant enough to track the frequency of diseases and take corrective measures at right time before its too late.
