Tea Benefits : Tea as healthy as water, says research

Tea and coffee are some drinks that are always surrounded by lots of facts and myths. Though Caffeine is considered not so good for health, but now for the first time scientists have proved that the amount of caffeine in tea do not increase the need to urinate, despite of beliefs that it deprives body of necessary fluids.

Study says that tea is just as hydrating as plain water and do not make people dehydrated. The study has been done in UK where 21 men with an average age of 36, who usually do not have much of caffeine intake were made to drink 240ml mugs of tea with 20ml of semi skimmed milk in 12 hrs, or the same amount of warm water.

Dr Carrie Ruxton, a dietitian saysSix cups of tea and water offered similar hydrating properties ,making tea an excellent way to maintain healthy fluid level.”

She further says “It’s a common misconception that drinking tea can increase the risk of dehydration because of its caffeine ,advising tea as dehydrating could be misleading and drive people and less healthy drinks.
