Kidney infection causes symptoms and treatment
Kidney infection or pyelonephritis is generally a kind of urinary tract infection caused by a bacteria called E.coli.The bacteria enters through the bladder and infects the kidney.Kidney infection, if goes untreated can cause serious problem such as blood poisoning(sepsis) or kidney damage.
The infection may be acute or chronic.About 10% of men and 40% percent of women suffers from kidney infections.Women less than 50 years of age are most likely to suffer from kidney infection.
Causes of kidney infection:

- Pregnancy

Symptoms of kidney infection:
The main symptoms which indicates that the person may be suffering from kidney infection are-
- Urge to urinate frequently.
- Burning or pain sensations while urinating
- Back and abdominal pain
- Occurrence of pus, or blood in urine.
- Inability to urinate
- Vomiting and fever
- Groin pain
- Smelly urine
- Sudden and uncontrolled shivering
Treatment for kidney infection:
Kidney infection can be treated through various antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin,cephalosprin etc.You must consult your doctor before using of any of these antibiotics medicines.
Home treatment for kidney infection include remedies such as intake of pain killers, heating pads and drinking lots of fluids helps decreasing the pain and the infection symptoms.
Intake of alcohol, soft drinks, caffeine, and smoking should be strictly avoided during the infection as it can cause serious health complications.
