The sign and symptoms of heart attack in women are entirely different from men. Therefore most of the time the symptoms of heart attack in women goes undiagnosed. Insomnia

 Insomnia or the inability to sleep well is a crucial symptom during the months a long before heart attack in women.

Fatigue

Studies have shown that about 70 percent of the women experiences fatigue during the initial months before the occurrence of heart attack.

Shortness of breath

 Women experiences loss and shortness of breath while walking up the stairs, walking fast or carrying out daily tasks.

Anxiety and depression

 Depression as well as stress increases the risk of heart attack.

Pain in shoulder, ear, neck and jaw

A sensation of stiffness and pain is felt across the jaw lining, down the neck, area around the ear. Backache and pain in the shoulders and arm especially on the left side can be felt as well.

Abdominal pain

Disorders like constipation, gas and indigestion ups the risk of  heart attack in women.

Other symptoms include heart burn, heart palpitations, flu like symptoms like cold and chills, nausea and light headedness. A healthy life style should be followed to reduce the risk of heart attack. Maintain a healthy weight,exercise regularly, quit smoking (if, you have smoking habit), include meals less in saturated fat, salt and cholesterol.
