Diabetes is a common disease among Indians.A recent study has shown that more than half of the population of India suffers from either diabetes or hypertension disorder. Both the diseases should be treated properly, if ignored once can be hazardous for life.
Diabetes have certain life-threatening complications such as it badly effects the functioning of kidneys, effect the nervous system, the eyes and the normal functioning of heart.Diabetes is really dangerous for life ,if not treated and diagnosed well.
The life- threatening complications are explained below:
1)Heart
If you have a family background of diabetes, or you are a strong smoker then you are vulnerable to heart disease and strokes.High blood pressure and overweight people diagnosed with diabetes should take a good care as the disease may cost your health and life.
2)Fat and metabolism
AS we know that people suffering from diabetes lacks the insulin hormone in the body.If proper dose of insulin is not taken then the fat is used as fuel source by the body. The side effect of the fat, consumed by the body in this way is that it leads to a other harmful condition called ‘ketoacidosis’, which causes dehydration, difficulty in breathing, weakness, abdomen pain and vomiting.
3)Eyes
Eyes are badly effected by diabetes, if goes untreated. The bad blood glucose control of the body adversely effects the retina of the eye.As a result the blood vessels of the eye are destroyed. It causes vision problem such as blurred vision or double vision at times. The ill-treated diabetes causes loss of vision and increases the risk of developing vision disorders such as glaucoma and cataract.
4)Kidneys
If the body have uncontrolled blood sugar levels, the kidney is effected and the person experiences swelling around eyes, in feet and hands.Hypertension is like adding fuel to the disease as it increases the problem and effects the normal functioning of kidneys.
